Friedbot Studio is a software design and development company founded in 2025. We build custom software for startups and ship our own SaaS products. We also run a mentorship programme for engineers and entrepreneurs who want to learn by building.
Every engineer at Friedbot Studio works with AI tools daily — writing code, running tests, reviewing pull requests, drafting documentation. But AI writes the first draft, not the final one. There's always a human making the call on architecture, edge cases, and tradeoffs. That's the difference between using AI as a crutch and using it as a multiplier.
We don't skip code reviews because a model generated the output. We don't ship without tests because the code "looked right." Principled engineering means the process stays the same regardless of how the first draft was written. The bar doesn't drop because the tooling got faster.
We run client projects, develop our own products, and mentor early-career engineers through the Foundry programme. That's deliberate. Building across different contexts and constraints keeps us sharper than doing any one of those things alone.
We work with startups and organisations who need software built well and built on time. Custom web apps, APIs, SaaS platforms, scoped, designed, and shipped together.
We build our own tools too. Our first product, PhantomFlow, turns JSON storyboards into rendered videos through an API. It’s in active development, and more products are on the way.
Friedbot Studio Labs is where we experiment and incubate. Its first initiative, the Foundry programme, puts small teams through six months of building a real product from scratch.
The founding team behind Friedbot Studio brings over 15 years of experience building software across real estate, banking, and finance. They've worked on systems where reliability matters and compliance isn't optional. They know what a bad deploy actually costs.
When AI and agentic systems started changing what a small team could accomplish, they decided to build a company around it. A studio built from day one around AI-native engineering practices, not a consultancy that bolts AI onto existing workflows after the fact.
That background shapes how FBS operates: the rigour of the process, the emphasis on real-world constraints, and a belief that the best way to learn a new tool is to build production software with it.
